When HIKVISION NVR supports the POE feature in both Manual and Plug-and-Play modes, POE cameras can be added to the system. Please make sure the camera password and the NVR password match when using the Plug-and-Play mode. Alternatively, you might set the camera password to 12345.
The camera must be added directly to the NVR’s POE port in order for Plug-and-Play mode to be used.
What you need:
- 1- POE cameras
- 2- POE NVR
- 3- POE switch
How to manually add POE cameras to an NVR:
Steps:
- Attach your camera to the switch’s POE port. Your NVR should be connected to the same switch.
- 2- Select Camera Management > Camera > IP Camera.
- Click Manual, enter the IP camera address, Username, and Administrator password, and then press OK.
Note
- If you choose Manual mode to add the IPC with the POE feature, the IPC password can differ from the NVR password.
- Unless the camera passwords match the NVR password or are the default value of 12345, do not hit One-touch Adding.
How to use Plug-and-Play mode to add IPC with POE feature to NVR:
Steps:
- Your camera should be connected to the NVR’s POE port. Let’s say you attach your camera to POE port 2.
- Select the second channel (D2) by going to Camera Management -> Camera -> IP Camera and clicking Edit.
- Select Adding Method as Plug-and-Play, and click OK.
Note:
Verify that your IPC camera’s password matches the one on your NVR.
Avoid clicking One-touch Adding.
